What is microdeposit verification, and how do I complete it?

How do I verify my bank account?

If you choose to manually verify your bank account by entering your routing and account numbers, Stripe will send a small microdeposit to confirm your account. A Microdeposit is a small deposit (usually less than $1 each) sent by Stripe to your bank account to confirm ownership and accuracy of the account details you provided. This step, required by our payment processor partner Stripe, helps ensure your bank details are correct and protects against fraud.

Step‑by‑Step Guide:

  1. Submit your payment.
You initiate the transaction using your routing and account numbers.

  2. Receive a microdeposit.
Within 1–2 business days, Stripe sends a small deposit (typically under $1) to your bank account.

  3. Check your inbox.
Stripe will send an email asking you to verify either:

    • The exact microdeposit amount, or

    • The transaction descriptor (Unique 6-digit code) shown in your bank statement.

  4. Locate the deposit in your account.
Check your bank statement for the small deposit and note either the amount or descriptor.

  5. Complete verification.
Follow the link in the Stripe email and enter the amount or descriptor to confirm.

  6. Payment finalization.
Once verified, Stripe will automatically process your payment.

What happens if I don’t complete microdeposit verification?

If you don’t verify the microdeposit within 10 days, your bank account will not be confirmed, and your original payment will be automatically canceled. No funds will be withdrawn from your account. You will need to restart the process or submit payment via an alternative method.
